Refinishing old floor

Thu Nov 29, 2018 3:56 am

I have an old wood flooring https://www.revivalflooring.com/ that needs to be refinished. It's been more than 25 years since the last varnish, which means when I was around 10 years old. The floor lasted without any problems till now. Except for scaling off some outer surface of the varnish at some parts, we never had to do anything else. Now I'm planning to refinish the floor. Is it necessary to remove all the old materials? I'm talking about the nook and crannies that would need less of detailing and finishing. Should the varnish be removed from all places? The varnish is quite faded away and not visible. Please provide your suggestions.
