Hi Ava, I'ts a good question - I moved it to this new topic.
There might be several reasons why Strawberry Plants don't produce any Strawberries. Is it a new Plant or and old Plant? Did you grow them from Seeds or did you get the Plant from runnings?
If it's an old Plant:
  • Strawberry Plants will usually produce less or stop producing within a few years. It's recommended to change/replace the plants every 3-4 years. I try to replace mine every fourth year, by just removing the old Plants and let new runners take the space.
If it's a new Plant (from Seeds or Runnings):
  • The Plant might simply be to young. It might take more than one year until the Plant is producing Strawberries. It's hard to wait, but it usually gives you a stronger Plant and more Berries for the coming years. To help the Plant produce faster, you can pinch of the Flowers for a few weeks.
If it's a new Plant grown from Seeds:
  • Did you buy seeds or get your own? It's more fun to get your own seeds, but sometimes a bit risky. You might end up with a plant that is not producing (depending on what Strawberry you took the Seeds from). Anyway if you suspect this is the case - I think you should at least give the Plant another year to prove itself.
Other reasons: There might be something else that the Plant don't like.
  • It could be to much or to less water. Make sure that the Strawberry Plant is not soaked and not totally dried out either.
  • It could also be too much nutrients. If you add extra nutrients to the Plant - stop that for a while to see if it's improving.
  • It might not be pollinated. This should be taken care of if you have the Plant outdoors, but if you have it indoors you might want to help the plant with the pollination.
